Whether your dream is to ride in the Olympics someday or simply learn to ride a horse with confidence, Irongate Equestrian Center has custom tailored lessons to help you make your aspirations a possibility. All lessons, either private or semi-private, are geared to each rider’s ability and goals. No matter what your experience level or what you hope to accomplish, you have a place at Irongate. The Irongate riding program offers both children and adults the ability to take lessons on our facility lesson horses so that new riders are able to begin without the initial investment of a horse or board your horse at Irongate and utilize your own horse for lessons. We match available horses to riders carefully and our trainers oversee and schedule all academy lessons. Our lesson program takes students from beginner through intermediate levels and finally into our A circuit program, if that’s their goal. The riding school offers students the opportunity to compete at the any level, which is a lot of fun for the entire family. Equine sports are a great opportunity for children and young adults to develop life long skills such as discipline, responsibility, teamwork and good sportsmanship.
Irongate Quarter Horses
Horse’s have been my passion my whole life and my livelihood for over 30 years. I have trained and shown Quarter and Paint horses on a national level. For the past 20 years I have focused mostly in the Quarter Horse Industry. I was also an instructor at the University of Findlay specializing in teaching the western pleasure to juniors and seniors and helped with beginner freshman.
I am a self-employed horse trainer specializing in western pleasure and hunter under saddle horses along with guiding youth and amateurs in the all around events. I have trained and guided horses and non-pros to World Champion Wins, All American Quarter Horse Congress Wins (including two wins and several top ten placing’s in 2014) NSBA Wins and several Futurity Wins. I hold my AQHA, NSBA, and PtHA judges cards and have had the privilege to judge some prestigious shows such as The Tom Powers Futurity, Southern Bell Futurity, and Pinto Horse Congress to name a few.
I moved my business to Irongate Equestrian Center in September 2014. One of my great clients/friend, Tera Gore, from G and G Feed and Supply in Mount Vernon, Ohio, leases part of the facility where I have 24 training horses. I have several outstanding experienced staff that work with me. Services offered under my guidance are boarding & training, lessons, showing and sales. We also offer the following services for any breed of horse: rehab injured horses, conditioning horse for sales, ground work, ect.
